Facilities

Bedrooms


There are eight single bedrooms, three on the ground floor and five on the first floor, none of which have an en-suite facility. Each bedroom is accommodated with a wash basin, suitable flooring, single bed, arm chair/upright chair, waste bin, wardrobe, dressing table/chest of drawers and soft furnishings.  All bedrooms are decorated to each individual’s preference.

Dining areas


There is one dining area looking onto the garden, which accommodates two dining tables and chairs for up to eight persons. The dining area is located near the kitchen and office areas.

Communal areas


There is one large lounge/communal area leading off the dining area. There are three large sofas and one reclining armchair, a large TV, CD/radio player and soft furnishings. The lounge area has a large bay window, is situated towards the front of the house and has easy access to the dining area, WC and hallways.

Bathing facilities


There are a total of three bathrooms and one WC. There are two bathrooms on the first floor; one bathroom is accommodated with a lavatory, wash basin and shower cubicle and one with a lavatory, wash basin and bath. There is a disability walk in the wet room including the wash basin and lavatory situated on the ground floor; this is suitable for wheelchair use. There is also a separate WC on the ground floor.

Specialist equipment


Throughout the setting there are various specialist equipment used such as Commodes, shower chairs, raised toilet seats, repose mattresses and cushions. Equipment such as repose airflow cushions are provided by occupational therapists and only used for individuals stated. Ground floor WCs and bathrooms have raised seats with handles; the disability wet room also has grab rails and a shower chair. Commodes are available for use by individuals if needed. If any further specialist equipment is needed for individuals then the individual would need to be referred to an occupational therapist to receive this.

Security arrangements


The service does not use CCTV. There is a lone working policy and procedure to follow at night, all doors and windows are locked from 9pm-7am and there is use of an ‘on-call’ mobile phone, however, all individuals who choose to be in the community after 9pm are aware to use doorbell and staff are made aware of their late arrival home, there is a key code entrance pat fitted to the front door, kitchen and laundry.


Outside space


There is a large enclosed rear garden with a large decked area accommodated with ample seating, tables and a gazebo in the summer months. There is also a grassed area with fixed seating, shrub and flower beds, a washing line, built in BBQ and a garden shed. Individuals are encouraged to access the garden and can do so easily via paved ramp or steps.
